We value your health, were you a SATO resident, a customer looking for a home, our partner or one of our own employees. This is why we are making every effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We follow guidance from the authorities and exercise special care and caution in all of our activities.

Please note the following changes effective from 13 March 2020. We are monitoring the situation and will update our guidance where necessary.

For our residents
We will visit your SATOhome only when necessary

If you are now staying more home because of corona pandemic, you may easier observe defects in your apartment. Please notice that we will visit your home only when it is necessary. For safety reasons we kindly ask you and your family to stay out of the apartment during the maintenance visit.

At the moment we will first repair those defects which clearly have a disturbing effect on living in your home. Less urgent defects will wait for the later processing.

Reasons for urgent maintenance visits are e.g. defects that are dangerous or require immediate repair (such as water leaks, clogged drains or broken electric equipment). If urgent repair work is needed in your apartment, contact the maintenance company.

If you observe less urgent defect or something to repair in your home, please make a defect report via OmaSATO.

If we need to visit your home, we will provide you with more specific instructions. We will inform all SATO residents, when the situation returns to normal again and we can take care of repairs as before.

We take extra care when cleaning touching surfaces

In SATO houses we take extra care in cleaning those surfaces people touch the most, say, railings, elevator buttons and door handles.

Please avoid using non-essential common areas

Our current guidance to residents is to avoid using non-essential common areas (such as clubrooms) of SATO homes for the time being, and remember the government suggestion to avoid gatherings of over 50 people. Please use laundry room only if necessary and be very careful with the hand hygiene.

The shared saunas of SATO owned buildings will be opened on 18th May

You can use your own regular turn normally starting from 18th May 2020. Communal turns will remain closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

You can bathe for free for May and June and then begin pay you sauna fee normally starting from July.

Tips for neighbours

It’s important to respect neighbours during this new kind of everyday life. Please pay special attention to following things:

  • If you smoke, please smoke rather outdoors than on your balcony, from where the smoke lingers easily into your neihgbours apartment. If your entire building is a non-smoking zone, smoking is not permitted outdoors on the grounds either.

  • Please respect the peace of your neighbours during the daytime also. The corridors and staircases are not intended for playing or spending time. When playing outdoors, ball games should be played farther away from the building walls.

  • We encourage you to help your neighbour and ask for help for yourself if necessary. You can inform your neighbours about you offering your help or the need for help by pinning a message on the bulletin board of your home building or posting the OmaSATO message board. If you wish, you can print out our message template »

Put tissues in the mixed waste container

Tissues must, for now, be sorted in the mixed waste container, not biowaste. Please take rubbish out to the waste container every day if someone at your home is infected. Make sure you do not leave any rubbish outside of the waste containers.

Please note that there may be changes in our partners' operations. We will inform you of these where necessary.

For those moving in or out of SATOhome
Pay a special attention on moving-day cleaning

Whether moving in or out of a SATOhome, we urge you to pay a special attention when cleaning the touch prone surfaces (i.e. door handles, light switches, water taps, tabletops).
