SATO makes holiday donations to help the homeless and young people

22 December 2017

SATO's annual holiday donation this year goes to the same recipient as the year before, the homeless organisation Vailla vakinaista asuntoa ry or VVA for short.

"VVA are making an invaluable contribution in providing support and assistance to the homeless. It is a joy for us to be able to advance their effort and to help them achieve their goals," says SATO President and CEO Saku Sipola.

In the run-up to the holiday season, SATO also put in place a social media campaign together with the Hope Yhdessä & Yhteisesti association. For every 100 likes, comments and shares in the campaign, SATO will donate a 100-euro gift voucher for the association to distribute to young people from disadvantaged families.

"In addition to our traditional holiday donation, we called on social media users to describe what the holiday season would be like if it was up to the family teenager to decide," Sipola continues. "What came through loud and clear in the responses was the need for closeness and togetherness, and the importance of home and family, although going easy on the holiday housecleaning also got a lot of mentions. Serenity and time with our loved ones - it's what the holiday spirit is all about."
