High ceilings, wide windowsills, big windows and located at the very centre of the city. The plans for this Functionalist commercial building built in the years 1939-1941 were drafted by the SOK construction department under the leadership of architect Valde Aulanko. Some of the premises have subsequently been converted into residential units with a sauna. No two units are exactly alike. The layouts may be creative, but give loads of character and make for spacious homes.
Seeing as the building is in the centre of the city, all services are of course close at hand. With the bus station catty-cornered from the building, transport links are nothing to scoff at either. For transport links, see the Journey Planner for Hämeenlinna »
