Handsome building and lovely old courtyards
This attractive yellow apartment building is among SATO’s most elegant properties and it occupies pride of place in the heart of Kruununhaka. It is also one of SATO’s oldest properties in part: the original building was completed in 1896 and the seamlessly integrated extension in 1988.
The solidly built property holds units of all sizes, having in common only their loads of character and bright floor plans. The rooms are spacious and the high ceilings add an extra sense of space. Some of the bathrooms have tubs, some have showers. A few of the units of 32 sqm and 74 sqm also have balconies. The building has a charming, well-tended fenced-in courtyard with a play area and swings. The penthouse-level sauna terrace offers lovely urban landscapes; the National Archives and Senate Square to the south, Kaisaniemi park to the west. Laundry room available also for residents.
Kruununhaka is a historical neighbourhood of classical beauty just beyond the city centre. There are many small supermarkets and kiosks in the area as well as cafés and restaurants. The neighbourhood is also known for its antique stores. Kruununhaka is but a short walk to the city centre, the Market Square or the university campus at Siltavuorenpenger. The services of Hakaniemi are close at hand, as are Sibelius upper secondary school specialising in music and several comprehensive schools and day care centres. A number of walking paths run along the sea shore in Pohjoisranta to Tervasaari island and Katajanokka and towards Kaisaniemi park and onward to circle Töölönlahti bay.For transport links, see the HSL Journey Planner »
