This six-storey building with a lift was completed in 1996 close to the inner-city area next to the services of Paavola. The harbour area is also within walking distance. Nearby you will also find a library, theatre and hospital. The railway and bus stations are a couple of kilometres away. The units feature private saunas and some of the balconies are glazed. Residents have access to a small laundry room and drying room, bike room and storage lockers, and storage space for prams and pushchairs. West of the building is a small yard with swings and sandpit for the little ones.
Lahti inner city is a centre of housing and commerce situated where the Salpausselkä ridges meet Vesijärvi lake, an area bound by the main north-south train line, the ridges and the lake. The city centre is the core of an economic region of 200,000 inhabitants and has ample commercial and cultural services as well as a wide range of shopping opportunities: some 500 businesses and specialty shops as well as three shopping centres. The sports centre and the Salpausselkä recreation areas are just outside the inner-city area. In summer, the nearby harbour with its many restaurants and tourist services is a pleasant place to spend time. Sibelius Hall is also located in the harbour area. For transport links, see the Trip Planner for Lahti »
