Renovated rental homes close to the shopping centre

Raudikkokuja 5 is a nine-storey building close to Hakunila shopping centre in eastern Vantaa. Completed in 1970, these homes have been fully renovated to give them a fresh new look. The bright apartments have the large windows and clean and easily furnished layouts typical of 1970s homes. The apartments with two and three bedrooms extend through the building while the studios and one-bedroom apartments have southern exposures. All homes feature a sunny glassed-in balcony where you can create a potted-plant oasis or just sit back to enjoy a cup of coffee. The topmost floors offer stunning views across Hakunila.

An infill construction project is being launched and there will be new apartment buildings and a parking lot built on the site of the current parking lots of Raudikkokuja 3, 5 and 10. Spaces in the new parking lot will be available to current SATO residents as well. In the same context, the grounds of the Raudikkokuja buildings will also be upgraded with new greenery and the play area and waste management will both be modernised.

The design of the new buildings is underway and as things now stand, construction is estimated to start in 2021 and be completed in 2022.

Hakunila was selected as the Borough of the Year 2015 by the Finnish Local Heritage Federation. The jury was particularly impressed by the communality and active participation in local events by the residents. A full range of services can be found in Hakunila: day care centres, schools, library, church as well as commercial services at the centre of Hakunila. The diverse Hakunila sports park with the lit cross-country skiing track and the surrounding Ojanko recreational area are perfect for outdoor pursuits, while those into physical activity indoors will enjoy the swimming pool. Local history can be experienced at Håkansböle Manor, with a variety of events for residents organised in the Manor park and gardens. Located close to main transport routes, several bus services pass through Hakunila, providing easy access to destinations around the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
