Heavy snowfall forecast on Thu 17 Jan – maintenance companies prepared for snow removal

The weather forecast for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area is for heavy snowfall on Thursday 17 January. The maintenance companies are well-prepared for the blizzard and will start removing snow once the snow cover reaches around 5 cm. The main passages such as emergency access routes will be cleared first.

When the snowfall starts to ease off, maintenance staff will continue snow removal work on building grounds and parking areas during the next few days. If the amount of snow is excessive, there may be delays in the clearing of areas such as parking spaces.
