SATO has launched a webshop for rental apartments in February. The new service responds to growing customer demand and changes in the housing market, offering a modern self-service channel for those who already know what they want from their new home. In recent years, renting an apartment online has established itself alongside traditional rental applications.

"We have been closely following market developments and have seen how online renting has gradually gained a foothold. A secure and modern way to rent online is especially convenient for those moving from another city or for anyone who is already certain of their choice. Our customers are still warmly welcome to visit apartments in person, but now we can also offer a fast, modern alternative to the traditional application process," says Laura Laamanen, SATOs Commercial Director.

What sets the webshop apart from the traditional rental application process, which is also digital these days? With SATOs online store, customers can rent a home at their convenience and ensure they secure the exact apartment they want.

When renting online, customers verify their identity using online banking credentials and select their preferred home based on their chosen criteria and the apartment listing details. After a credit check, review of any payment defaults, and verification of rental history if applicable, the lease agreement can be signed in just a few clicks and by paying a reservation fee. This fee is fully refunded once the lease begins.

The newly launched online store was developed by a dedicated project team, including a large group of SATO employees. Customers were also actively involved, providing valuable feedback throughout the different stages of the project.
