Kontula has everything you need in your everyday life – shops, facilities for recreational activities and diverse services and the metro are all close to you. The metro journey to the centre of Helsinki takes around 20 minutes, to Kalasatama around 15 minutes and to Itäkeskus only 5 minutes. The area offers excellent opportunities for outdoor and sports activities, with a diverse selection of sports available at the Kontula sports park, indoor skatepark, Kelkkapuisto park and Mustikkamäki park area. Also within walking distance are the Kontula church, daycare centres and schools as well as a shopping centre with a variety of services. The multiculturality of Kontula can be seen in, for example, the selections of local restaurants and shops, with service often also available in multiple languages.
