Jokiniementie 48 A and B are part of a light-filled block of homes representing modern urban architecture. Both buildings have 59 SATO RentHomes from studios to three-bedroom homes with a sauna. The residents of the block have access to shared, park-like grounds with garden plants, retained trees, play areas and lounging areas.

The design of the buildings caters for energy efficiency and building solutions that will last for decades to come. Ranking in energy class A, the buildings have energy-efficient windows, ventilation with heat recovery capability and solar panels on the roof. The heat source is geothermal heat, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions. The homes and common areas feature efficient design, which helps to reduce the building’s energy consumption and improve its carbon footprint.

The comforts of the new building include highly functional common facilities: the civil defence shelter/storage units, drying room, sauna lounge/clubroom, shared sauna section, outdoor equipment storage rooms and baby carriage storage room are located in the basements of the buildings as well as on floor 1 on the property grounds side and on the street side.

SATO residents have access to shared cars for easy mobility without owning a car. The car parking spaces are located at the north end of the block in an indoor parking facility, with some also located outdoors. Jokiniementie 48 has a total of 40 parking spaces. All SATOhome car heating points are smart eTolppa poles that can also be easily upgraded for charging electric cars. There are also 17 outdoor car parking spaces shared by the block’s residents.

The rooms have pale laminate flooring and walls painted in pale grey. The kitchen cabinet doors are in white laminate. The backsplash is done in marble-effect composite panel, the countertop is in part laminate in the same design and in part stainless steel. The kitchen is equipped with an induction cooktop, built-in oven, dishwasher, cold appliances and space for a microwave. All appliances are white. The under-sink cabinet is equipped with SATO’s Seth waste unit consisting of coloured waste bins for easy recycling.

The bathroom comes with Kide range furniture designed for SATO. Kide furniture is made in Finland and has been awarded both the Key Flag and the Design from Finland symbols. The bathroom walls are done in white tiles, and the floor tiles are grey. There is space for a washing machine and dryer.
