Classy rental living in the Keimolanmäki area of Kivistö

Modern and close to nature

Keimolanmäki is a quiet new residential neighborhood just a stone's throw away from the Ring Rail Line in Kivistö, Vantaa. The area is spot-on made for you if you enjoy nature and outdoors: Isosuo nature reserve, Keimola Golf and the Petikko forests are all near by. Keep on reading and fall in love with Vantaa.

The first Keimolanmäki residents moved into their brand new homes in March 2016. The area is part of Kivistö and already has schools, a large daycare centre and several apartment buildings. The nearest train station on the Ring Rail Line ('kehärata') is in Kivistö, less than a kilometer away on the east side of Hämeenlinnanväylä road.

Vroom – a brief history of Keimolanmäki

The distinctive street names in Keimolanmäki hark back to the old race track that once occupied the area. It motivated street names such as Ajolenkki (Loop Drive), part of the old track, and Varikkokuja (Pit Stop Lane), the latter for obvious reasons. The area will also have a park called Ruutulippu (Chequered Flag) and Lincolninaukio square, while the go-kart track that also used to stand in the area is now commemorated by the name Pikku-Keimolan polku (Little Keimola Pathway).

At the southern end of the area, Pikku-Keimola park has a playground, an exercise area, cherry trees and a butterfly meadow. A light traffic bridge crosses the small water bed. The history of motor sports has also been brought to the fore in the architecture of the residential buildings in the area, and the apartment yards of Keimolankaarre are integrated into the overall plan.

Astounding biodiversity of Isosuo Natura 2000 nature reserve

Isosuo in Keimola is the most typical and extensive raised bog in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area where you can find many swamp types that have been classified as endangered in Southern Finland, diverse vegetation and wild animals. Wide and well-maintained pathways travel right next to the swamp on its eastern and western sides.

When it is a good year for berries, Isosuo also has plenty of bilberries and cloudberries. Moose and deer can be spotted at the swamp, as well as many species of less common birds. Many butterflies flit around the open swamp and one of the best butterfly spotting areas in Vantaa, located around the former Keimola radio mast, is right to the east of the swamp.

A developing neighborhood: shops, events and services

The nearby Kivistö urban culture center will be completed at the end of 2023. In the center, you can enjoy the library's selection of novels, the services of the youth center and diverse cultural events. The health center and shopping center Kivis will also be located in the same premises. In Kivis, there are grocery stores, S-market and Lidl. In addition, you can use the services of, for example, the fitness center and several restaurants.

Arena 3.3, which will be the third largest indoor event arena in the Nordic countries and the largest in Finland, is also being built to Kivistö. It is a new venue for year-round events in Finland. The arena will host international concerts, sports events and other large public events throughout the year. At its best, it attracts more than 32 000 spectators to concerts or 17 000 spectators to sporting events. A high-quality 310-room congress hotel and comprehensive restaurant services will also be implemented in connection with the arena.

How about a round of golf in just about your own backyard? You can do this in Keimolanmäki: the diverse Keimola Golf Club is just a few strokes away from SATO’s rental homes in Leksankuja, Varikkokaarre, and Lincolninaukio.

The club features two 18-hole courses called Kirkka and Saras. Kirkka has quite wide fairways with plenty of space alongside them. Woods border most of the Saras course, where the club holds all of its competitions and corporate events.
